Born and raised in Vilnius, Lithuania, I am an independent writer and photographer based between my homeland and the UK.
I started my academic path in 2014 at Vilnius University, where I graduated in Journalism, following my passion for creative writing and admiration for war journalism.
Later on, I worked as a journalist in the military press office of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, which gave me a unique opportunity to document the daily lives of soldiers in service. This professional experience and my early interest in military themes ultimately led me to pursue an MSc in War & Psychiatry at King's College London, from which I graduated in 2021.
The journey of photography began around 2016, when I took my first photographs of my grandparents, aiming to capture them while I still had the chance. Those few pictures now have immense value to me, as they have both since passed, and the photographs I took are the only ones I have.
Nowadays, I photograph people of all ages, but I am constantly drawn to finding elderly individuals whose portraits I can take, believing that one day these photographs might hold special meaning for someone else.
Inspired by my professional and personal life experiences, my creative approach combines the disciplines of journalism and photography to create impactful documentary projects and photo series.
